Public invited to apply for openings on Opioid Epidemic Response Advisory Council (OERAC)

The Opioid Epidemic Response Advisory Council (OERAC) was established to develop and implement a comprehensive and effective statewide effort to address the opioid addiction and overdose epidemic in Minnesota.
The council includes legislators from both bodies, tribal nations, state agency representatives, providers, advocates and individuals personally impacted by the opioid crisis, as well as representation from law enforcement, social service agencies and the judicial branch. The council meets monthly, and members can attend in person or virtually.

Currently, members of the public can apply for OERAC membership openings in these categories:

  • Public member with chronic pain, intractable pain or rare disease or condition
  • Public member in opioid recovery
  • Alternative pain management therapies representative

Applications for the above memberships can be submitted through the Minnesota Secretary of State’s website and will be accepted through September 26, 2022 at 5 p.m.

Also, a representative from each of the following groups will be appointed as a member of OERAC by September 30, 2022:

  • Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
  • Minnesota Ambulance Association
  • Minnesota Hospital Association
  • Minnesota Department of Human Services
  • Minnesota Department of Health
  • Minnesota Department of Corrections
  • Minnesota House of Representatives

Visit OERAC’s website for more information including the council’s purpose, the meeting schedule and a list of current council members.
