Great news for our region. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 22nd for Willow Grove, a 20 unit single occupancy Supportive Living apartment complex for being built in North Branch.
The project is a 20-unit apartment building consisting of 1 bedroom apartments. The property will include a community room, offices, a laundry room, support staff and front desk staff. It will be permanent supportive housing for persons with serious and persistent mental illness.
The idea is to provide housing first and assist with independent living during their tenancy.
There is no time limit to a tenant’s housing or requirement to take support services to live at the facility.
The project will also set aside at least 7 units for individuals experiencing Long Term Homelessness.
All units will be referred to the project by the coordinated entry process.
It is anticipated that tenants will be residents of Region 7E. The tenants will be eligible for Housing supports and receive supports. The supportive housing will offer additional choices for continuum of care to individuals living with a severe and persistent mental illness.
