Section 8 Chisago Isanti Kanabec and Pine

The Housing Choice Voucher Program, also referred to as Section 8, is a federally funded program administered by the HRA of Mora and is designed to assist low-income families with their monthly rent payment.

Under the HCV Program families receive a voucher that allows them to pay at least 30% of their monthly household income toward rent and utilities.  Rental units must pass HUD’s Housing Quality Standards inspection in order to become eligible for rental assistance payments. Once a property is approved, and a Housing Assistance Payment Contact is executed, the HRA makes monthly payments directly to the landlord for the remaining balance of the rent.
