About the event
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month—a time to bring attention to a stigmatized, often-taboo topic and remind our neighbors they’re not alone. Throughout September, we invite you to CHALK IT UP by creating sidewalk messages of hope, awareness, encouragement, or a personal promise, then sharing your creation on social media.
How to participate
Chalk a hopeful message or image on your sidewalk/driveway (or a school/church/community space with permission).
Snap a photo.
Share it on Facebook or Instagram and tag us so we can amplify your message:

Get everyone involved
Families, coworkers, civic groups, neighbors, classmates, and friends—all ages and abilities are welcome.
Friendly guidelines
Use washable chalk.
Only chalk in places where you have permission; don’t block walkways or driveways.
Keep messages supportive, kind, and respectful.
