In Our Own Voice – Hope for Recovery – Free Class

NAMI will be coming to the North Branch Drop-in Center and presenting:

In Our Own Voice
Wednesday, March 18th at 11 am
Chisago Drop-in Center
6500 Main Street, North Branch MN 55056

This has been a topic of conversation at the Local Advisory Council, following discussion on personal experiences within our community.

This particular presentation offers a better understanding of the journey individuals with mental illness in recovery go through. There will be personal stories, video clips and an opportunity to ask questions.

Understand the journey of people with mental illness in recovery. IOOV (In Our Own Voice) is a unique public education program in which two trained speakers share compelling personal stories about living with a mental illness and achieving recovery, demonstrating that there is hope for recovery for people with mental illnesses. The presentation includes personal stories and video clips, as well as offering an opportunity to ask questions.

The IOOV (In Our Own Voice) program has touched many lives and is effective in reducing the stigma surrounding mental illnesses. This 60 to 90-minute class is for any groups interested in learning more about mental illnesses and recovery.

If you are outside of Chisago County and plan to attend please email Kate Thron (kate.thron@chisagocountymn.gov) with your RSVP. This will ensure there will be adequate space and seating for all attendees.
