PICK’M UP Suicide Prevention Coalition October 2025 Meeting

Great turnout at our 2025 Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk in September!

Good afternoon everyone!

Thank you to those that were able to join us, in person for our October meeting.  I always appreciate gathering face to face and sharing some delicious snacks! Click here to view October’s meeting minutes.

For those that were unable to join in October or haven’t been able to join the PICK’M Up Suicide Prevention Coalition in some time, we want to say we’ve missed you!  There are some exciting things happening that we would like to share.

In 2026, the coalition will continue to focus on our three suicide prevention priority areas of EDUCATION, COMMUNITY SUPPORT, and OUTREACH.

Our EDUCATION focus area or team will be working

  • Promoting safe gun storage and targeting suicide prevention messaging within our community to reduce access to the most lethal means of suicide.
  • Postvention best practices

Our COMMUNITY SUPPORT focus area or team will be working on:

  • Postvention resources available within our community
  • Identifying potential resources or partners for a suicide survivor support group/s within the Region.

Our OUTREACH focus area or team will be working on:

  • May 2026 Event for Mental Health Month in support of our education focused goals of safe gun storage and reducing access to lethal means.
  • September 2026 Suicide Prevention Walk/Run in Kanabec County

The unique perspective that you bring is valued, and we would love to have you join us!  Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday November 21st from 9-10:30am.  Please know that we do not expect everyone to be able to join the meeting every month.  Please join when you can and think about what ways you see yourself engaging in any of the above 2026 focus areas.  If you are unable to join us in any way in 2026 and/or would like to be removed from the PICK’M distribution list, please let me know.

Thank you to everyone for the work that you are doing in our communities and the perspective you bring to the coalition!
