Next Step: One-to-one peer support across Minnesota

NEXT STEP IS HERE.

Wellness in the Woods is excited to announce the statewide launch of Next Step, our one-to-one peer support program for adults across Minnesota.

Sometimes a group isn’t what you need. Sometimes you need one person who understands what it means to navigate hard things — someone who can listen, encourage you, and walk alongside you as you figure out what comes next.

That’s what Next Step is designed to offer.

Participants are matched with a Certified Peer Specialist for individualized support grounded in shared experience, connection, and hope.

WHAT DOES NEXT STEP LOOK LIKE?

One-to-one peer support by phone
Weekly conversations of up to 60 minutes
Support available for up to one year
Connection with a peer who brings lived experience to the relationship
Participant-led conversations focused on what matters to you
No diagnosis required
No cost to participate

Next Step is available to Minnesota residents age 18 and older.

YOU CAN REFER YOURSELF.

You don’t need to be connected to a provider or organization to get started. Individuals can submit a referral for themselves, and professionals or community partners can also make a referral with the individual’s consent.

After a referral is received, our Intake Coordinator will reach out to talk more about the program, learn about the participant’s needs and preferences, and begin the process of finding a peer match.
