Join PICK’M UP Coalition – September is Suicide Prevention Month

Greetings,
In Minnesota, suicide is the second leading cause of death for 10-34-year-olds and the eighth leading cause of death, overall.

With the vision of reducing suicides to zero within Region 7E, the PICK’M Up Coalition was formed. The PICK’M Up Coalition is open to anyone in Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, or Mille Lacs counties with a passion to prevent and reduce suicide in the community.

Please consider joining the coalition and/or participating in our efforts. We are looking for members to join the coalition. We are also looking to build connections with a variety of community partners and businesses.

September is Suicide Awareness Month.
The PICK’M Up Coalition is promoting an event, “Chalk It Up” for the month of September. This event is geared towards drawing/writing messages of hope, mental health, and suicide awareness within the community on sidewalks and driveways. These images and messages will then be shared on social media by the coalition and the top “liked” image/message will receive a prize.

We are seeking businesses and other establishments that are willing to participate in and/or allow “Chalk It Up” messages. Please let us know if you are willing to participate in the event and/or able to provide any sort of small giveaway/prize.
